Two bowling alley workers are being held hostage by a gunman in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, their boss says.
Witnesses say the hostage-taker is armed with a sawn-off shotgun.
The chief executive of MFA Bowl in Nuneaton says he was told that the gunman is the ex-partner of a bowling alley employee.
Warwickshire Police have released few details, only saying they are dealing with an “ongoing incident” that is not terror related.
Residents have been told to stay away from the area, as armed police have surrounded the complex and hostage negotiators attempt to make contact with the gunman.
People inside a neighbouring cinema say films were halted and doors were locked as the drama unfolded.
