The Russian-Chinese joint exercise Naval Interaction-2015 started on August 21.
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Vice Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Chinese Navy Rear Admiral Van Khai, heads of the exercise, announced about readiness of the Joint Staff and involved forces to hold the exercise.
Both commanders stated that the exercise was not directed against any country. Organization and cooperation improvement are the main goals of the exercise.
On August 23, Russian and Chinese servicemen will compete in football, table tennis, rowsport, and rope towing. After the competitions, all personnel will attend concert.
In the course of the active stage of the exercise, the seamen will improve cooperation in anti-sabotage, anti-submarine, air, and anti-ship defence.
Moreover, the servicemen will fire at different surface, underwater and aerial targets. Joint assault landing operation will be the highlight of the exercise.
Joint assault operation is held at the territory of Russia is held for the first time.

In total, 22 ships and support vessels, up to 20 aircraft, more than 500 marines and about 40 pieces of armament and military hardware are involved in the exercise.
The exercise will last until August 28.
