The Northern Fleet Commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev inspected readiness of the Arctic motorized rifle brigade for holding exercise with combat firing.
Beforehand, the units landed on the Taimyr Peninsula from Saint George and Kondopoga landing ships and performed marching to the exercise area.
The Northern Fleet Commander stated that the Arctic units will practice reconnaissance and search activities as a part of the interservice force grouping.
Actions of the interservice group concerning protection and defence of the important industrial facility in the Arctic are the main issues of the exercise.
In total, more than 1,000 servicemen, 14 aircraft, 34 pieces of special and military hardware are involved in the event.
