Crews of army, fighter, bomber and transport aviation of the Western MD will participate in the joint Russian-Belarusian operational exercise Union Shield-2015. The exercise will be held in Leningrad and Pskov regions on September 10-16.
The pilots will practice projecting to the operational airfields, covering the troops on the route, performing landing operations, and engaging surface targets.
In total, 80 aircraft, including Mi-8, Mi-24, Ka-52 helicopters, Su-24 bombers, Su-25 attackers, and Su-27 fighters, will be operated during the exercise.
