BEIJING, Sept. 16 (ChinaMil) — The Chinese government and the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) jointly held the training seminar on assistance and protection for the Asian region, aiming to further promote exchanges on the prohibition of chemical weapons among Asian countries, and share experience in protection.
The training seminar was kicked off at the Anti-Chemical Command and Engineering Institute (ACEI) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Beijing on September 14, 2015.
It is learnt that this is the first time for the ACEI to hold a training seminar on assistance and protection for the Asian region. During the seminar, 22 trainees from such countries as Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia will receive training for two weeks.
This training seminar covers such aspects as chemical threats and emergency, chemical detection, protection, decontamination, and first aid.
Comprehensive training exercises which center on organization and implementation of chemical protection, chemical emergency disposal, and emergency response to chemical events, will be conducted during the training seminar.
