On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am pleased to congratulate the people of the Republic of Palau as you celebrate the 21st anniversary of your nation’s independence on October 1st.
The close relationship between the United States and Palau is built on a long standing foundation of collaboration and cooperation. The United States thanks Palau for its contributions to global peace and security throughout our shared history, as exemplified by the many citizens of Palau actively serving in the United States Armed Forces. We appreciate Palau’s tireless commitment to protecting our shared oceans and your efforts to tackle global climate change.
On this day of celebration for the people of Palau, the United States extends its sincerest wishes for joy and prosperity in the upcoming year.
We look forward to deepening our relationship with Palau as we find new areas for partnership.
