Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Land Forces visits Cuba
In accordance to the plan of the international military cooperation of the Russian Defence Ministry, Chief of the Russian Land Forces Colonel General Oleg Salukov is paying a working visit to Cuba on February 16-18.
In the course of the visit, Colonel General Oleg Salukov will have a meeting with the Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frias and the Deputy Minister – Chief of the General Staff of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera.
Issues concerning development of the Land Forces of two countries, education of the Cuban officers in the Russian military educational establishments, and participation by the Cuban servicemen in the International Army Games–2016 will be the topical ones during the negotiation.
According to the programme of the visit, Colonel General Oleg Salukov is to visit a tank formation and a special mobile brigade as well as a Military Academy of the Cuban Revolutionary Forces.
Moreover, it is supposed that the parties will lay wreaths to the monument for the Soviet soldiers in Havana.
