Deputy Secretary Blinken Delivers Keynote Address at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Atrocity Prevention Conference

Deputy Secretary Antony Blinken will deliver the keynote address at the “Partners in Prevention: A Global Forum on Ending Genocide” Conference, hosted by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He will discuss the U. S. government’s efforts to develop tools, harness resources, and implement new structures to better assess risk and prevent mass atrocities.

The conference will bring together global partners and international experts for a broad discussion focused on the progress and future of atrocities prevention worldwide. During the daylong conference, USAID Deputy Administrator Alfonso Lenhardt will discuss the future of the U.S. government’s efforts on atrocity prevention. Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Sarah Sewall, will address international partnerships and atrocity prevention. Assistant Secretary of State for Conflict and Stabilization Operations David Robinson will provide remarks on mainstreaming and operationalizing atrocity prevention in U.S. diplomacy.

The conference is open to the press and general public and will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Washington, DC. For more information on the conference and to register, click here.
