Russian Defence Ministry held military-scientific conference on summing-up experience gained by the Russian force grouping in Syria

 Today, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu headed military-scientific conference titled “Military and political results of operation held by the Russian Armed Forces in Syria and main strategic conclusions”.

In his speech, the Minister of Defence stated that possibility of incidence of such military conflicts remained at the same level.

“In these conditions Russia is to adequately respond potential threats,” said General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.

The head of the military department reminded that in accordance to the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief starting from September 30, 2015 combat aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces had started performing strikes on objects of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria after informing interested countries.

“This became possible owing to efforts, which had been aimed at rearmament of the army and taken by the leadership of the country,” stressed Sergei Shoigu.

According to the Minister of Defence, operation performed by the Russian Aerospace Forces has reversed the situation for the legal government of Syria

He also said that the Syrian troops had liberated 586 inhabited areas, including 150 towns and more than 12,000 square kilometers, owing to active support of aviation and artillery of the Russian force grouping. This allowed 264,000 refugees to come back to their houses.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that more than 2,000 insurgents including 17 field commanders have been eliminated in course of the operation in Syria.

According to the head of the military department, the Russian Defence Ministry is working on strengthening the Syrian Armed Forces, recovering their combat capabilities, and preparing units for performing assigned tasks. Syrian commanders control the warfare after implementation of these measures.

Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held Single day of military production acceptance

 Today, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation has held Single day of military production acceptance in the National Center for State Defence Control.

According to the Defence Minister, troops have received Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile system brigade complex, S-400 Triumph regiment complex, Admiral Essen guard ship of 11356 project, Soyuz 2-1b middle-class rocket booster, 15 unmanned aerial vehicles, 8 radar stations, 58 jets and 34 helicopters of different class and dimension within last three months.

Moreover, troops have also received armored vehicles, engineer and automotive hardware, aviation armament, communication means, and munitions.

Head of military department noted that volumes of supplying with main military hardware samples reached almost 40% of the year plan.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu reminded that 602 complex objects, about 4,200 building and constructions, including objects of Joint Space System, Artic zone, airfields, were to be installed until the end of 2016.

Moreover, several objects of Strategic Missile Forces have been put into service. Therefore, missile regiments in Novosibirsk, Teikovo, and Tatishevo have been put on combat duty.
