Kerry urges talks between China and Philippines on South China Sea

The US Secretary of State John Kerry has met his Filipino counterpart, Perfecto Yasay in Manila.

At a news conference, the recent UN ruling on the South China Sea region was high on the agenda, which threw out many of China’s territorial claims. Kerry said the ruling was ‘binding’ but also called for further negotiations between Philippines and China.
