General Popov said he was “pleased and proud” to be there to inaugurate the new building, the first NATO structure to be set up in his country.
“I am happy to note that the Bulgarian authorities carried out this infrastructure project smoothly and according to plan. That fact alone is worthy of celebration, and of our gratitude to the Host nation for doing such an excellent job of project management,” said Major General Huhn.
Huhn also stated “these facilities are key enablers that make this Deployable Communication Module a functional, operational unit, ready to respond to the orders of SACEUR and NATO on a short notice-to-move tasking.”
The NATO CIS Group is the largest organization within NSC and provides all NATO deployable CIS capabilities during operations and exercises. The new infrastructure will boost NATO’s capacity to provide its deployed troops with required CIS capabilities.
