Webinar Description:
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is strategically positioned at the crossroads of the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region, centrally located between Europe, Asia, and Africa, making it a stable and open regional hub for U.S. business. Jordan has strong, cooperative relations with its neighbors and the wider international business community.
In 2001, Jordan was the first Arab country to sign a Free Trade Agreement with the United States, which continues to create advantages for U.S. exporters. U.S. exports to Jordan rose almost 10 percent in 2016. Jordan enjoys trade preferences with regional partners including Israel and other Arab countries, as well as the European Union and many other countries that give it duty-free access to an estimated 1.5 billion customers.
Jordan also has signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty with the United States and hosts a wide range of U.S. investors, including in the energy, mining, agriculture, and consumer goods sectors. Best prospects for 2017 include renewable energy, health services and technologies, and the information and communications technologies, among others.
