“We condemn the attack on the military hospital in Kabul in the clearest and strongest possible terms. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families of the victims. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.

The terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility. This attack on defenceless hospital patients, on the sick and the injured, as well as on the staff that help these people, demonstrates the barbarity of this terrorist group. It is cowardly and callous to target defenceless individuals in a hospital.

We stand side by side with the people of Kabul at this difficult time and continue to support Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism.
