Defence Minister urged to pay attention to the reliability of the strategic missile carriers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS
During the teleconference with the leadership of the Armed Forces, Defence Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu has tabled a question relating to the improvement of health strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS.
The Defence Minister explained that work in this area performed by a public joint stock company “Tupolev” together with other industrial enterprises on state contracts maintenance and full life cycle.
Currently being renovated avionics, engines, other systems and units, and repair and upgrade the aircraft themselves in order to prolong their life and improve the application.
Given the particular importance of each strategic bomber to strengthen the defence of the country, the Defence Minister offered to analyze what is done to ensure the reliability of these aircraft.
Minister of Defence of Russia during a teleconference with the leadership of the Armed Forces analyzed the situation in Syria
Today at the National Center for State Defence Control under the leadership of the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held a teleconference with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.
His work started with the analysis of the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic.
He noted that the Syrian government forces and militia groups with the support of the Russian Aerospace forces are developing success in the North-East of the province of Aleppo, near Palmyra and in the South of Syria during the last month. General of the Army Sergei Shoigu pointed his attention to the fact that the provocation of coalition forces led by the USA, contribute to the expansion of activities of terrorist organizations in Syria.
“After the USA aviation shot down the Syrian plane near Rusafe in the southern part of Raqqa province, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation stopped its contacts with the American side in the framework of the Memorandum on the prevention of incidents and ensuring the flights safety,” – stressed Sergei Shoigu and said that currently the coalition actions are strictly confined by agreed zones in the district of al-Tanf in the South of Syria and East of the Euphrates river.

“For a significant reduction in military activity and violence in the Syrian Arab Republic the 5th International Meeting on Syria in Astana will take place on July 4-5. Currently, together with Iran and Turkey we complete work on the documents that define the boundaries of the zones of de-escalation, the procedure for their control and operation,” – said the Defence Minister, adding that during the talks in Astana also expected to discuss the creation of the Syrian national reconciliation Committee.
The Head of the Military Department stressed that the Syrian experience is captured and implemented in the framework of the preparation of military control bodies and troops.
For this reason, a large-scale charges with the leadership of the Armed Forces at the operational-strategic level were conducted in February.
“The next step, according to Sergei Shoigu, will become the operational meeting with participation of commanders of formations and commanders of associations, which is scheduled for July.”
