Costa Rica joins the Budapest Convention; Argentina to follow
The authorities of Costa Rica have deposited the instrument of accession to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. The Congress of Argentina approved the act of accession to this treaty.
T-CY18: MLA and cyberviolence in the spotlight
The Cybercrime Convention Committee held its 18th plenary session on 27 and 28 November in Strasbourg. Mutual legal assistance and cyberviolence were the focus of discussions.
First Hemispheric Forum on International Cooperation against Cybercrime
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 5-7 December
Co-organized by the Council of Europe (through the GLACY+ project), the OAS General Secretariat (in the framework of the mandates of the REMJA), the United States Department of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) of the Dominican Republic, the Hemispheric Forum on International Cooperation against Cybercrime consisted in three days of workshops on cybercrime policies and strategies, legislation, cybercrime investigations and digital evidence.
Regional workshop on reporting mechanisms in South-eastern Europe and Turkey
The regional workshop served as a forum for discussion for prosecutors, cybercrime investigators, representatives of the public and private sectors regarding the  structure and methods to collect cybercrime reports, as well as an opportunity to share good practices on online platforms for reporting cybercrime.
Future judges and prosecutors trained on cybercrime and online crime proceeds
Organised in collaboration with the Justice Academy of Turkey the introductory training module touched upon aspects of cybercrime, e-evidence, financial investigations of online crime proceeds and money laundering typologies, making use of the existing technologies, substantive and procedural laws, as well as international cooperation.
Regional Conferences in the iPROCEEDS and EAP project areas
Regional Cyber Forum in Bulgaria: The IV South East European Regional Forum on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime focused on government, business and future challenges of cyberspace. Participants from iPROCEEDS and EAP III project countries attended the event.

Regional Cybercrime Conference in Azerbaijan: The Council of Europe in cooperation with the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) and the Anti-Corruption Directorate of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized this event for 93 participants from Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iran, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Turkey and Ukraine.

Ghana to become a judicial training hub on cybercrime and e-evidence for the ECOWAS region
In close collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission, the Council of Europe has supported the delivery of the Introductory Training of Trainers Course on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence for judges and prosecutors from the English-speaking countries of the ECOWAS Region.
Towards a mainstream approach to training judges and prosecutors in cybercrime and e-evidence
The Council of Europe and the Office of Cybercrime of the Department of Justice of the Philippines organized an International Workshop on Judicial Training Strategies on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence for representatives of GLACY+ countries and ASEAN member states.
CyberSouth – assessment
The Council of Europe conducted assessment visits in Algeria, Lebanon and Tunisia. The visits aimed at identifying the needs for assistance of the main stakeholders along the project objectives.
