Maj. Julianna Rodriguez from Army Cyber Command’s Joint Force Headquarters – Cyber spoke about how women can get involved and make meaningful contribution in the cyber and technical fields during a Leadership Discovery Luncheon hosted by the Augusta University School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta, Ga., March 13, 2019.

Rodriguez, who is involved with the Girls Who Code program designed to promote women’s roles and involvement and close the gender gap in technology and computer science, encouraged audience members to get involved, act on their ideas and respect and encourage others to succeed.

The event promoted awareness of women working in technical fields as well as draw attention to two programs: Girls Go CyberStart, a series of digital challenges designed to introduce high school girls to the cybersecurity field, and Cyber FastTrack, a program to help build foundational knowledge and encourage and facilitate careers in cybersecurity. Interested participants can register for Girls Go CyberStart by March 20 at girlsgocyberstart.org and sign up to begin Cyber FastTrack on April 5 at cyber-fasttrack.org.
