The Minister of Health resigned on Thursday, and Prime Minister Ludovic Orban quickly proposed to the post the secretary of state Nelu Tataru.
A few hours later, President Klaus Iohannis made a press statement (already the 4th consecutive day) and announced that he had signed the decree, so Nelu Tataru is the new Minister of Health.
Costache’s resignation may have something to do with yesterday’s announcement that all Bucharesters will be tested for coronavirus, which is very hard to believe because now our country can only do 1,000 tests a day.
But even after Costache’s resignation, it seems that the idea of testing the gladiators will not be abandoned. However, it does not seem to apply to all the inhabitants of the Capital.
The manager of the Institute “Matthew Bals” in the Capital, Adrian Streinu-Cercel, said on Thursday that at the population level of two million inhabitants, as long as they are in Bucharest, it is necessary to test 9,558 people, as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections. And because there’s a margin of error, according to his calculations, it’s necessary to test 10,514 people.
Romania remains in total isolation, with the army patrolling the streets and unmaintained traffic bans after 1989.
The death toll in our country has reached 1,029 cases, of which 18 people have died.
The situation can become dramatic for the health care system, given that more than 150 medical personnel are infected and hundreds more are in isolation after coming into contact with sick patients and awaiting testing. From one hour to the next, we find out about other affected hospitals.
Here’s what conditions we can get out of the house
