Breaking: #Romania #FlorinCîțu is the new president of #PNL. He has almost 1,000 more votes than #LudovicOrban

UPDATE 18.30. Prime Minister Florin Cîțu won the race for the head of the National Liberal Party. He got nearly 1,000 more votes than his opponent, Ludovic Orban, who has led the party so far.

Cîțu obtained 2878 votes, and Ludovic Orban, 1898 votes.

Following this announcement, Ludovic Orban announced that he would resign on Monday from the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies.

Cîțu said that the head of the Chamber of Deputies will remain with the National Liberal Party and that an interim will be appointed.
