Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that scores of people have been killed. Early Friday, multiple explosions were heard in the capital city as the Ukrainian military reported clashes with Russian forces in Kyiv. The US, EU and a number of other countries have announced new sanctions against Russia in response to the latest developments.
