Ukrainian authorities said on Tuesday that their forces targeted a Russian ammunition depot in Russian-held Nova Kakhovka, about 35 miles (55 kilometers) east of Kherson. According to Ukraine, the long-range rocket strike killed at least 52 Russians. The area is one that Russia seized after launching what it called “a special military operation” on February 24 and is viewed as important with its access to the Black Sea and its proximity to Russian-annexed Crimea, per Reuters.
