European Council President Charles Michel announced on Friday that the first United Nations grain transport ship may soon depart Ukraine for Africa. The ship, Brave Commander, would take more than 23,000 metric tons to Ethiopia, a move that would help offset the food crisis propelled by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to The Associated Press.
