Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the annexation of multiple territories of Ukraine in an address to both houses of parliament on Friday. The move comes after Kremlin-installed authorities claimed victory in orchestrated referendums in the four territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk. UN Secretary-General António Guterres and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have warned that an attempted annexation by Russia would be a violation of international law.
