The current month started with a series of events and conferences at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
The Republic of Moldova is increasingly mentioned by prestigious international portals in the context of the fact that great personalities
of the world remember their Bessarabian genealogical roots.
The most recent is the case of Professor Randy Schekman – Nobel Laureate in Medicine, honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova,
who on NobelPrize.org website mentions that his mother’s parents come from the small town of Lipcani, from where they emigrated
to the United States of America almost 100 years ago, in 1927.
During his visit to the Republic of Moldova, in September 2023, Prof. Schekman traveled to Lipcani to pay tribute to the great-grandparents buried here.

On June 12, 2024, the festive meeting of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova dedicated to the 63rd anniversary of its foundation took place.
Since the beginning, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova has been, as a whole, an important nucleus of intellectuals and scientists in
Romania, a powerful forum for the recognition of scientific merits and performances, an essential landmark of fundamental and applied research,
but also an undeniable valuer of cultural heritage.

On the Day of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, June 12, academician Tudor Lupașcu, specialist in ecological chemistry
and environmental protection, member of the Exact Sciences and Engineering Section of the ASM, was the guest of the Telematinal
show on TVR Moldova. The show was part of the series of events dedicated to the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the ASM.

The first working meeting was held following the signing of the Partnership Agreement between the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania
and the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania.
On June 13, 2024, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova organized a first working meeting with the participation o
f the President of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences Acad. Jūras Banys and the Vice-President Acad. Zenonas Dabkevičius, following the signing of the Partnership Agreement.

On the day of the ASM, the Gallery of Science, Innovation and Art opened its doors wide
On June 12, 2024, the Golden Hall of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova became a true Gallery of science,
innovation and art, where a series of works in the field of arts are exhibited. In this way, the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Sciences was recorded.

Problems of research addressed at IPN News Agency
IPN News Agency organized on June 11, 2024 the public debate entitled “Romanian Academy and Academy of Sciences of Moldova:
Partnership for the Development of Research and Innovation in the European Context”, the sixth edition of the project “Double integration
through cooperation and information. Continuity”, supported by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government.
The discussions were attended by: academician Ion Tighineanu, president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova;
academician Bogdan Simionescu, scientific researcher, “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Romanian Academy,
professor at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași;
Dr. Tudor Braniște, head of the Academic Management and External Relations Section of the ASM,
president of the Youth Academy of Moldova.
