Currently, emergency officials have declared a fire emergency and issued an immediate evacuation for the entire

town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, as nearly 8,000 people are being evacuated due to an out-of-control wildfire now called the South Fork Fire.

The fire broke out earlier this evening, and large flames, along with thick, heavy smoke visible hundreds of miles away, indicate the severity of the situation.

Numerous structures in the town and surrounding areas are now threatened by this devastating fire, which has been raging for more than

12 hours and has consumed 4,500 acres with zero percent containment they are calling this a Life threatening situation as the fire approaches.
