Robert #Williams: “Where is science and scientists?”

Science and scientists. some of them in the private laboratories of companies, others in universities and others members of national academies.

How does science exist and how is it managed?

Regardless of whether they are researched in private laboratories or universities, scientists must be recognized by the academic

environment for their studies and discoveries. Competition is fierce in the private sector and is diluted towards the academic forum governed

by the state where confusion begins to be evident.

If private entities ensure continuity and predictability through projects, in the case of governments, the science that has begun becomes a memory.

Very visibly decimated and scattered in various institutes governed by institutions other than those of science (academies), the present is already bleak,

not to mention the near future.

The political negotiations placed on the page on treaties, agreements do not mention anywhere the supremacy of the academy as the supreme

scientific forum but transfer access to funds and science to any useful entity, why?

Of course, science has developed and the most accessible are universities for researchers where they promote their professional degrees

and academies later due to many years of study.

Is the coagulation of science and its division among entities at the risk of dying slowly and surely the national academies? Who doesn’t need academies anymore?

Politics has proven in most cases that it cannot afford science and has divided everywhere under the pretext of agreements and treaties to the

detriment of its own national development, thus contributing to the exodus of scientists to other places.

In the short term, universities seem to be the future supreme forums of science, being much more accessible to future scientists and easier to finance by

anyone, compared to national academies, where the demands are unbearable for some.

The extinction of the national academy and of the scientists has begun in different countries and in order not to offend anyone, we are sounding

the alarm that the confusion between education and science to the detriment of the academy has disastrous consequences so that disciplines can

disappear or are not prioritized, other disciplines can be prioritized, which is visible: health, war, agriculture for which the rest are in a free and visible dive towards alternatives.

If the facts are like this… Who answers the questions: where science and where do scientists go?
