In the context of the 175th anniversary of Mihai Eminescu’s birth, the #Romanian Academy and the Academy of Sciences of #Moldova come up with the initiative to declare the year 2025 as the #Eminescu Year.#News247WorldPress

In accordance with the decision of the management of the two Academies of November 25, the following program of cultural actions and manifestations is proposed:

Organizing on January 15, 2025 a joint session of the two sister academies with the physical and online participation of the full members, corresponding members and honorary members of these institutions;

Organizing a research cycle within the Eminescu Year, which will continue during the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on August 25, 2023 and launched in Romania on November 12, 2024;
Organizing special editions of the World Congress of Eminescologists, the Summer School for Young Researchers, the National Culture Day and the National Holiday “Our Romanian Language”;
Preparation of new editions of Eminescu’s work, of the complete poetic creation and translations into English, as well as into 85 other languages into which it has been translated;

Publishing postal issues (postage stamps, envelopes, stamps, etc.) on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the great poet’s birthday;
Organization of cultural events within libraries, schools, cultural houses and hostels, universities;
UNESCO’s involvement, through the representatives of Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

We hope that the proposed academic program will be supported and complemented with other cultural actions and manifestations, organized by Romanian communities and cultural institutions and people from all over the world, which promote our culture within the universal value dialogue.
