Just moments ago, during a press conference, the Mayor of New Orleans described the catastrophic incident that occurred early on New Year’s Day as a terrorist attack but later the FBI later clarified that this wasn’t a terrorist event. After a suspect drove a pickup truck into a crowd, followed by gunfire, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, leaving 12 people dead and 26 others injured. The scene remains highly active, and the FBI has confirmed the discovery of an improvised explosive device in the vicinity. Eight blocks surrounding the scene have been closed to the public, and authorities are urging people to avoid the area as it remains a highly active crime scene.
