On February 28, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova concluded the sessions of public hearings of scientific reports as part of the evaluation process of research conducted in institutional programs for the years 2024–2027, the stage for the year 2024. In the last stage, the Department of Social, Economic, Humanistic and Arts Sciences evaluated projects that addressed topics of great importance for the evolution of knowledge and social development. Among these is the development of a chronological encyclopedia regarding the history of Bessarabia during the period 1812-1918, an interdisciplinary project that aims to provide a detailed perspective on the historical developments in this region. Additionally, the coordinates of socio-economic, political, administrative, and cultural modernization at different stages of state evolution in Moldova, Bessarabia, the MSSR, and the Republic of Moldova were analyzed, with an emphasis on the regional and European context.
Changes in political regimes and their impact on culture and politics were another point of interest of the evaluated research. At the same time, the issue of national security of the Republic of Moldova in the context of accession to the European Union was analyzed from a legal, political and sociological perspective, along with the mechanisms for strengthening the well-being and security of citizens.
In the field of education, emphasis was placed on the theory and methodology of continuous development of the school curriculum, as well as on the socio-cultural integration of foreign students through sports and tourism activities. The prehistoric and ancient archaeological heritage of the forest-steppe region was also a topic of interest, emphasizing the importance of research and scientific valorization of it.
