The Russian Army has captured the Shevchenko deposit, Ukraine’s 2nd-largest lithium field.
Profits from the deposit were supposed to shared 50/50 by Ukraine and the U.S.
under the minerals deal signed a few months ago.
The field is on the outskirts of the village of Shevchenko near Pokrovsk, a key city in the Donetsk region
which the Russians have been trying to capture for the past year.
The lithium field covers roughly 100 acres and sits at a depth suitable for commercial mining.
