On June 25, 2025, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, acad. Ion TIGHINEANU, and members of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova had a meeting with Prof. univ., Dr. Liviu-Bogdan CIUCĂ, President of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Romania, President of the Legal, Discipline and Immunities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, a special guest at the Summer School taking place from June 23 to 27 at AȘM.

The discussions focused on the role of academies of sciences in the sustainable development of countries, the necessity of collaboration to leverage experiences and mutual support, the importance of supporting research, promoting and utilizing scientific results, the development of science, and integration into the European Union, as well as fostering true scientific and cultural bridges that contribute to strengthening the shared Romanian space. It is worth mentioning that a year ago, on July 17, 2024, in Bucharest, the Scientific Partnership Agreement was signed between the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Academy of Legal Sciences, and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Romania.

In his capacity as President of the Legal, Disciplinary and Immunities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Prof. Dr. Liviu-Bogdan Ciucă presented the Moldova Academy of Sciences with a Diploma of Excellence “on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of its establishment, for exceptional managerial results and for effectively promoting scientific research at the national and international level.”

At the same time, during the meeting, “in appreciation for the contribution to the development of scientific research and academic collaboration between Romania and the Republic of Moldova,” Prof. Liviu-Bogdan Ciucă handed over, on behalf of the Romanian Academy of Legal Sciences, the Excellence Award to the leadership of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova – President of ASM Acad. Ion Tighineanu, Vice Presidents of ASM Acad. Svetlana Cojocaru, head of the Section of Exact and Engineering Sciences, Acad. Eva Gudumac, head of the Section of Life Sciences, and Corresponding Member Ion Hadârcă, head of the Section of Social, Economic, Humanistic Sciences and Arts. Additionally, the Excellence Award of the Romanian Academy of Legal Sciences was awarded to Corresponding Member Dr. Hab. in Law Valeriu Cușnir, Section of Social, Economic, Humanistic Sciences and Arts.

Professor Liviu-Bogdan Ciucă delivered a public lesson entitled “The Survival of the Goddess Themis in the Context of the Contemporary World” in front of the participating students, sharing his experience and encouraging young people toward a career in the field of law. The third edition of the Summer School “The Path to Scientific Discoveries” is organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in partnership with the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Romanian Academy, the Academy of Legal Sciences of Romania, and the Academy of Young People of the Republic of Moldova, with financial support from UNESCO.
