According to the Associated Press, Warsaw and Bucharest are deploying Merops, a mobile air defense

system already tested in Ukraine.

The system can be mounted even on a pickup truck and is capable of detecting and shooting down drones, using artificial intelligence

to navigate when satellite or electronic communication is jammed.

NATO reportedly plans to eventually deploy Merops along the entire eastern border of the alliance, as well as to protect critical infrastructure sites.
A tan military vehicle resembling a Polaris MRZR with a mounted sensor array and antenna on top sits on a dirt path amid pine trees under a cloudy sky. Two soldiers in camouflage uniforms and helmets are positioned in the vehicle, one driving and the other in the passenger seat. USMC markings are visible on the vehicle and soldiers gear.
