BUCHAREST / CHIȘINĂU – The contemporary history of the two supreme forums of spirituality and science, the Romanian Academy and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), is being written today under the banner of a solidarity that transcends conventional borders. This visionary journey, documented through historical appeals and high-level academic manifestations, represents a true epic of the reintegration of the Romanian spirit.

The Historical Foundation: “Unity is Strength”
The starting point of this endeavor lies in the reaffirmation of identity truth. The President of the Romanian Academy, Acad. Ioan-Aurel Pop, evoked the significance of the 1859 Act as a fundamental landmark for the present. His message is one of absolute clarity: the intellectual strength of a nation depends on the unity of thought and action of its elites. This vision constitutes the moral foundation for the establishment of the Romanian Academy Branch in Chișinău.
The Call to Society and Policymakers
The epic continued with a gesture of great civic and institutional courage: a “Call” addressed to society and political factors on both sides of the Prut River. The Academy of Sciences of Moldova emphasized that the consolidation of the common scientific, cultural, and linguistic space is not merely an academic wish, but a national urgency that requires the appropriate legal and political framework.
The Solidarity of Intellectuals
Complementing this effort, a Noble Appeal was launched to all people of science and culture. This mobilization aims to dismantle artificial barriers and build an indestructible spiritual bridge. It is an invitation to a “unity through excellence,” where research and Romanian values form a united front within the European context.
