On April 16, 2026, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova will have the honor of hosting the visit of academician Marius Andruh, President of the Romanian Academy, elected to this high position on April 7 of this year.
The visit is of particular significance, being the first official trip of academician Marius Andruh as President of the Romanian Academy to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova — a fact that reconfirms the special nature of the relations between the two sister academies and the joint commitment to strengthening the Romanian scientific and cultural space.

During the visit, academician Marius Andruh will participate in:
The Round Table entitled “Science unites: dialogue for the future in a changing world”;
The Session of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova;
The lecture “Repositioning science in an uncertain and fractured world?” delivered by Prof. Sir Peter Gluckman, President of the International Science Council (ISC);
The lecture “International Science Council: Science in action in an ever-evolving and uncertain context” delivered by Dr. Salvatore Aricò, Director General of the ISC.
The events are part of the cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Romanian Academy, and the International Scientific Council and reflect the joint efforts to promote the role of science in contemporary society, as well as to strengthen international scientific dialogue.
The academic community is invited to attend the announced public lectures – events of high scientific standing.
