His Excellency Yoram Elron, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Moldova, visiting the Academy of Sciences of Moldova

The President of ASM, Acad. Ion Tighineanu, presented the main directions of activity of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and the most important achievements of the institution in recent years, highlighting ASM’s role in promoting scientific excellence, supporting research, and strengthening the dialogue between the academic community and society.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of intensifying bilateral cooperation by facilitating the exchange of experience, initiating joint projects, and encouraging direct contacts between researchers and highly qualified professionals. At the same time, the need to leverage international expertise and promote successful models in research and innovation was highlighted.
Acad. Ion Tighineanu reiterated the opening of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova for expanding international partnerships and developing joint initiatives aimed at contributing to the increased visibility of research, promoting scientific results, and bringing science closer to citizens.
In turn, His Excellency Yoram Elron expressed his willingness to support collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, including by facilitating the participation of prestigious personalities from Israel in the scientific and academic events organized by ASM.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of promoting genuine professionals and values based on competence and performance, underlining that the exchange of experience and dialogue among specialists are essential elements for the development of modern societies.
The meeting confirmed the common interest in developing Moldovan-Israeli academic and scientific relations, as well as in identifying new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
His Excellency Yoram Elron is the first resident ambassador of the State of Israel in Chișinău, appointed after the official inauguration of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Moldova, in 2025.
