Science Day2026: 2030 is approaching fast, and science and policy has to be ready for it. -International Science Council

Science Day 2026 brings together scientists, policy-makers and societal actors at the UN High-Level Political Forum #HLPF2026 to take stock of where things stand. As the international community enters the final stretch of the #2030Agenda, the event examines where the science-policy interface is working and where it falls short.

Through the day, sessions will explore progress on the hashtag#SDGs, where scientific knowledge is already helping deliver results, and what’s needed to translate evidence into real decisions. The conversation will also turn to what comes after 2030, considering how science-policy partnerships need to evolve to support sustainable development in the years ahead.

Join us on 9 July, 10:00–13:00 EDT, at UN Headquarters in New York or live on UN Web TV.

Cohosted by International Science Council, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), United Nations Development Programme – UNDP and SEI – Stockholm Environment Institute.
