Today, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released The Journey to Zero Trust – Using Secure Access Service Edge in a Modern TIC 3.0 Solution, which provides guidance on how using Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions can support agencies as they continue advance their zero trust capabilities and modernize network security under the Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) 3.0 initiative.
As agencies move away from perimeter-based security models, SASE combines networking and security functions to help secure access to applications, data, and services across cloud, hybrid and distributed environments. This guidance outlines how using SASE to securely broker access to resources reduces reliance on legacy architectures and traditional VPN-based approaches.
While federal agencies are the target audience, any organization looking to modernize its perimeter-based architectures, advance zero trust adoption, and improve visibility and control across distributed environments may benefit from this guidance.
