În ziua de 2 iulie curent, la București, în incinta Parlamentului României, a avut loc o nouă ședință a Consiliului Academic Român (C.A.R.), structură de cooperare academică ce reunește Academia Română, Academia de Științe a Moldovei și patru academii de ramură din România: Academia de Științe Juridice, Academia de Științe Medicale, Academia de Științe Tehnice și Academia de Științe Agricole și Silvice “Gheorghe Ionescu-Şişeşti“.
Lucrările ședinței au fost precedate de un cuvânt de salut rostit de prof. univ. dr. Bogdan CIUCĂ, președintele Comisiei juridice, de disciplină și imunități a Camerei Deputaților. Deschiderea reuniunii a fost anunțată de acad. Ioan-Aurel POP, președintele Consiliului Academic Român, și de acad. Ion TIGHINEANU, vicepreședintele C.A.R. și președintele Academiei de Științe a Moldovei.
Cu mesaje de salut au intervenit prof. univ. dr. Emil CONSTANTINESCU, Președinte al României în perioada 1996–2000, conf. univ. dr. Alexandru Mihai GHIGIU, președintele Comisiei pentru învățământ a Camerei Deputaților, Florin IORDACHE, președintele Consiliului Legislativ, acad. Doru PAMFIL, președintele Filialei Cluj-Napoca a Academiei Române, precum și alte personalități prezente la eveniment.






On July 2 of this year, a new meeting of the Romanian Academic Council (C.A.R.) took place in Bucharest, inside the Parliament of Romania. The C.A.R. is an academic cooperation structure that brings together the Romanian Academy, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, and four branch academies from Romania: the Academy of Legal Sciences, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Academy of Technical Sciences, and the “Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești” Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
The proceedings of the meeting were preceded by a welcoming address delivered by Prof. Dr. Bogdan CIUCĂ, President of the Committee for Legal Matters, Discipline, and Immunities of the Chamber of Deputies. The opening of the reunion was announced by Acad. Ioan-Aurel POP, President of the Romanian Academic Council, and Acad. Ion TIGHINEANU, Vice-President of the C.A.R. and President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
Welcoming messages were also delivered by Prof. Dr. Emil CONSTANTINESCU, President of Romania between 1996 and 2000, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexandru Mihai GHIGIU, President of the Committee for Education of the Chamber of Deputies, Florin IORDACHE, President of the Legislative Council, Acad. Doru PAMFIL, President of the Cluj-Napoca Branch of the Romanian Academy, as well as other prominent figures present at the event.
During the meeting, organizational aspects regarding the activity of the Romanian Academic Council were discussed, along with several initiatives of major importance for strengthening Romanian academic and cultural cooperation. Special attention was given to the actions dedicated to celebrating the Romanian Language Day under the auspices of the C.A.R., as well as the preparation for the 2nd edition of the Scientific Conference “The Role of Science in the Modern World – Artificial Intelligence: The Challenge of the 21st Century.”
A key moment of the meeting was the examination and approval of the “Bucharest Appeal of the Romanian Academic Council for Unity through Knowledge, Truth, and Responsibility in the Face of 21st Century Challenges.” The document expresses the commitment of C.A.R. members to promote academic cooperation, defend historical and cultural truth, strengthen the shared space of knowledge, and assert the fundamental values of Romanian society within a European and international context. The members of the Romanian Academic Council took note of the Message of Support for the C.A.R. initiative, signed by Prof. Dr. Grigore TINICĂ from the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași.
During the second half of the day on July 2, the members of the Romanian Academic Council participated in the event dedicated to Justice Day, held in the “Ballroom” of the Palace of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest.
