Northern Fleet ship grouping held air defence exercise in the Barents Sea

Today the Northern Fleet ship grouping, including the Vice Admiral Kulakov major anti-submarine warfare ship and Admiral Ushakov fleet destroyer, held an air defence exercise in the Barents Sea.

The ship conducted joint training with usage of radio technical armament against low-flying targets. The target was imitated by Su-24 jet.

The main goal of the exercise is to improve cooperation between the pilots and artillery and missile crews under the joint command.

Tonight the ships will hold one more exercise on repelling an air strike by AA missile armament in cooperation with fighter aviation.
