Chinese soldiers win praise at eighth international military music festival

MOSCOW, Sept. 14 (ChinaMil) — The 8th International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower”, taking place from September 5 to 13, was concluded in Moscow, Russia, on the night of September 13, 2015. The Russian side said that the Chinese military members were highly disciplined, well-trained and almost perfect during the music festival.

A total of 1500 people from the military bands, honor guards and folk art troupes of 13 countries, namely Russia, China, Belgium, Britain, Greece, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Pakistan, Slovenia, Japan, Belarus and Italy, attended the performance.

The military band of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the female soldier squad of the Guard of Honor of the Three Services of the PLA formed a 125-person delegation to attend the military music festival held at “Spasskaya Tower” for the first time.

Lieutenant General V. Khalilov, head of the military band service of the Armed Forces of Russia, spoke highly of the performance of the Chinese military members at the military music festival in an interview.

He said that the audience uttered sighs of admiration unceasingly for the performance of the Chinese military members. The members of the Chinese military band played very professionally during the music festival and could be said to be perfect.

During the festival, the Chinese military band shared the same stage with PLA honor guard for the first time. “To our surprise, the members of the honor guard were all female soldiers. They were very beautiful, and demonstrated the gun parade march very skillfully. They are just marvelous. We all know that the Chinese military is very powerful. Their performance at the military music festival shows that the Chinese military members are highly disciplined and well-trained,” Khalilov, added.
