Southern MD units have been equipped with more than 500 pieces of modern military hardware

This year motorized, artillery, engineer and reconnaissance units of the Southern MD, coastal defence units of the Black Sea Fleet and Caspian Flotilla have been equipped with more than 500 pieces of new and modernized samples of armament and military hardware.

The servicemen are mastering Tornado-G MLRS, T-72B3 tanks, BTR-82AM, Aistenok and Sobolyatnik radio stations, Zoopark-1M radiolocation complex, and other hardware.

In total, the district is to be equipped with more than 1,700 pieces of new and modernized samples of armament and military hardware.

The active stage of the Southern MD rearmament started in 2010. By end of 2020 about 70% of motorized rifle, navy and aviation units of the districts will have been equipped with modern hardware.
