Servicemen of sport companies of the Russian Ministry of Defence to take part in the World Military Games in South Korea

Servicemen of sport companies of the Russian Ministry of Defence will take part in the World Military Games in South Korea. The team of the Russian Federation Armed Forces will participate in 17 of 24 disciplines. Thirty-one sportsmen of 219 will participate in the Games under the banners of the Central Sports Army Club.

The majority of sportsmen will participate in four disciplines – cycling, athletics, judo, and taekwondo. Moreover, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces will compete in pentathlon, sailing, swimming, triathlon, boxing, fencing, and Greco-Roman wrestling.

Half of the team consists of paratroopers of the 309th Center of special physical training of the Airborne Troops as well as servicemen from formations and units of the Airborne and the Air Force of Russia.

The sixth World Military Games will take place on October 2-11, 2015. Today 86 countries have already confirmed their participation.
