EUROPOL CONDEMNS ATTACKS IN BELGIUM

Europol condemns in the most categorical terms the heinous attacks carried out this morning in Brussels and extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
Europol’s European Counter Terrorism Centre has offered its full assistance to the Belgian authorities which includes making available Europol’s unique intelligence tools and databases dedicated to combating various terrorist threat.
Turkey and Europol sign Liaison Agreement

The Deputy Director of the Turkish National Police, Mr Basturk, and Europol’s Deputy Director Mr Martinu today signed the Liaison Agreement between Turkey and Europol. Deputy Director Martinu expressed his satisfaction with the possibilities this will offer to enhance cooperation with Turkish law enforcement.
Tackling fake foodstuff, beverages and agricultural products

Foodstuff and beverages are among the main categories of products seized by EU customs, reaching over 2 million of articles seized according to the latest EU customs report released in October 2015. Products for daily use and products that would be potentially dangerous to the health and safety of consumers, such as fake food and beverages, accounted for a total of 28,6% of the total amount of detained articles in 2014.
Europol supports dismantling of Chinese criminal network involved in trafficking in human beings

On 8 March Europol supported German law enforcement authorities in dismantling a Chinese organised crime group involved in the trafficking in human beings (THB). Based in Germany, this criminal gang is suspected of trafficking Chinese nationals into the EU for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
Serbian Criminal Network Dismantled in Spain and the Czech Republic

The Spanish National Police and law enforcement authorities from the Czech Republic and Serbia, supported by Europol, have disrupted a Serbian organised crime group operating in Spain and the Czech Republic. This criminal network is suspected of committing a vast array of criminal offences, including 3 homicides (2 in Serbia and one in the Czech Republic) and the production and large-scale distribution of cannabis.
