On 8 April 2025, Prof. Peter Gluckman, President, and Prof. Robbert Dijkgraaf, newly elected President of the International Scientific Council, sent a letter to the members of the Council in which they formulated some priorities in the current conditions, marked by a series of challenges and changes in the global geopolitical landscape. It mentions the need to adequately fund scientific research in the countries of the world, to preserve and further develop international cooperation, to strengthen trust in science and to promote evidence–based decision–making.
